Close to 300 Beverly and Salem Residents Took the Polar Plunge

Super Bowl Sunday Polar Plunge in Beverly and Salem raised over $40,000.

This past Super Bowl Sunday, 284 brave Beverly and Salem residents took the plunge into the Atlantic Ocean in both Lynch Park and Winter Island. Joined by hundreds to supporters, the 2015 Polar Plunge raised over $40,000 for two local non-profits- North Shore Community Development Coalition and River House. All funds support the nonprofits’ mission to end homelessness and create affordable housing in Salem and Beverly.

Congratulations to this years’ winning schools; Saltonstall Elementary School in Salem and Ayers Ryal Side Elementary School in Beverly for winning the Plunge Cup and North Beverly Elementary School in Beverly and Witchcraft Heights Elementary School in Salem for winning the Big Splash Award. Special thanks to Pattie & Lydia Saltzman in Beverly and Suzie Nieves in Salem for being the top individual fundraisers in each city!
