North Shore CDC's Annual Polar Plunge 2016
Join hundreds of brave folks as they jump into the ocean to raise money to create thriving communities in the North Shore

The 10th Annual Polar Plunge is set for February 7th 2016 and will benefit North Shore Community Development Coalition along with their two partners for the event, Salem Education Foundation, and River House in their effort to build homes and strengthen communities in the North Shore. Brave souls of all ages are invited to take the plunge at either of the two locations, one taking place at Woodbury Beach at Lynch Park in Beverly, and another at Winter Island Park in Salem.
Last year, close to 400 people took the plunge, and event organizers expect a similar turnout this year. As in previous years, Beverly and Salem public schools will compete for two traveling trophies — the Plunge Cup and the Big Splash Award. The Plunge Cup recognizes the school team that raises the most pledge donations and the Big Splash Award goes to the school with the highest percentage of school-wide participation.
“The community support behind the Polar Plunge and the cause it benefits is key to the event’s success. School-age children and their dedicated parents are a huge part of making the plunge what it is, and we’re very appreciative of the support,” said Mickey Northcutt, CEO of North Shore CDC.
