Police: Assault With a Shovel, Man Hit in Face by Plow, Vehicles Tagged and Towed

Saturday, Feb. 7

At 4:54 p.m., burglary, breaking and entering a motor vehicle on Elliott Street. Purse stolen from vehicle.

At 5:38 p.m., vehicle tagged on Pleasant Street for blocking a fire hydrant. Area around hydrant was shoveled and was clearly visible.

At 7:05 p.m., motor vehicle accident with property damage on Cabot and Hale streets.

At 7:33 p.m., gas odor reported in the area of River Street. National Grid notified.

Sunday, Feb. 8

At 10:36 p.m., motor vehicle stop at Cabot and Thorndyke streets, Citation issued for cutting off police cruiser and failure to stop.

At 11:07 p.m., motor vehicle accident on Herrick Street. No injuries. No tows.

At 12:52 p.m., motor vehicle accident with property damage on Cabot Street. Plow struck motor vehicle.

Monday, Feb. 9

At 12:01 a.m., citywide tag and tow winter parking ban patrol. A total of 27 citations issued and 20 vehicles towed for parking ban violations.

At 8:34 a.m., vehicles hindering plows on Bayview Avenue. Two citations issued.

At 9:27 a.m., disturbance on Highland Avenue. Woman screaming on the third floor. Woman stated she was having an argument on the phone.

At 11:12 a.m., vehicle hindering snow plow on Holly Lane. Vehicle removed.

At 1:33 p.m., motor vehicle accident with a city plow on Essex Street at Paramatta Road.

At 2:22 p.m., hazard on rantoul Street. Wire hanging down. National Grid notified.

At 2:23 p.m., man hit in the face by a plow on Judson Street. Man reported that a plow was so close to him, it knocked his glasses off his face. Man was upset. Efforts made to located the plow driver were unsuccessful.

At 2:20 p.m., vehicle stuck on tracks on Dodge Street.

At 4:40 p.m., disturbance on Bridge Street. Argument between neighbors over snow. Problem resolved.

At 4:32 p.m., assault with shovel on Rantoul Street.

At 4:33 p.m., snow removal issues on River Street.
