Police: Beer Pong; Throwing Food

Excerpts from the Beverly Police Department log.

Tuesday, Sept. 1

At 4:14 p.m., there was a motor vehicle accident on Dane Street.

At 5:30 p.m., police responded to a report of possible underage people playing beer pong on the beach on Ober Street. When police arrived, the saw three people around a beer pong table with open containers of light beer and a cooler containing more light beer. One of the three initially told police that he did not have to give them his name or age. Police informed him that he could be arrested for public drinking and refusing to submit proof of age and name. He submitted his ID. All three were 21 and were advised to pack up and leave since they did not know anyone from the private side of the beach.

At 7:36 p.m., there was a report of food thrown at a truck on Dodge Street.

At 10 p.m., there was a report of a loud group of people on Bow Street. There were three men smoking cigarettes who apologized and went inside.

Wednesday, Sept. 2

At 2:24 a.m., there was a report of a man yelling on Elliott Street.

At 4:17 a.m., there was a fire near a garage on Beacon Street that was extinguished with a garden hose.

At 10:19 a.m., a motor vehicle struck a pole on Hale Street.
