Police: Dog Dispute Ends with Thrown Cabbage; Too Drunk to Clear Speed Bump

Friday, Oct. 30

At 4:42 p.m., a snowblower was reported stolen on Glidden Street.

At 5:53 p.m., there was a report of underage drinking on the fire road near County Way. Police were unable to locate anyone, although they did hear people running through the woods. A fire pit was found and extinguished, and there were empty beer cans in the area.

At 7:02 p.m., an intoxicated woman fell twice trying to walk over a speed bump on Elliott Street. She was transported to Beverly Hospital.

At 8:33 a.m., there was a report of a man yelling at cars on Hale Street.

At 10:01 a.m., a tree stand was stolen on Cabot Street.

At 10:47 a.m., a cat attacked someone on Bennett Street. The animal control officer was called.

At 4:01 p.m., there was a motor vehicle accident on New Balch Street.

Sunday, Nov. 1

At 1:05 a.m., a temporary stop sign was taken from the DPW yard and placed at the intersection of Kernwood Avenue and Harris Street.

At 6:51 a.m., three people were found sleeping in a car on Opal Avenue that was blocking a driveway and a fire hydrant. All the occupants appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and the car was towed.

At 5:02 p.m., police responded to a dispute between neighbors on School Street. According to police, it has been an ongoing dispute involving the owners’ dogs and where they defecate and keeping the areas clean. Tonight’s dispute ended with one person throwing leafy cabbage at the other. One of the people is moving out at the end of the month, and police advised them to try and act civilly for the next month.
