Friday, April 3

At 4:34 p.m., suspicious activity on Essex Street. School staff reported a possible homeless camp across from the train tracks in view of school playground. Bags of blankets, hammock and miscellaneous items.

At 7:25 p.m., larceny from building on Highland Avenue. Package missing from a porch.

At 1:39 a.m., suspicious activity on West Street. Woman flagging down cars; needed a ride to a convenience store because of the rain.

At 9”50 a.m., prevent breach of peace on Essex Street. Dispute over gas payment. There was no dispute; rather, a language barrier.

At 10:12 a.m., suspicious activity on Essex Street. Possible stolen necklace. Woman reported that when she woke up, her diamond pendant necklace was broken and the pendant was missing. Manger had staff turn the room upside down, but could not find the diamond. Fearing it was stolen, manager contacted police. While an officer was taking the report from the necklace owner, the officer found the diamond after a cursory search of the room.

At 2:04 p.m., possible hazard on Park Street. Smokestack was blown over and fell on the train tracks. MBTA notified.

At 7:30 p.m., motor vehicle accident on Pond Street. No accident: Motorcycle operator fell off and split open his knee. He was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment.

At 7:35, intimidation of a witness reported on Cabot Street.

At 11:07 p.m., suspicious activity on Dunham Road. Car following a woman. Woman walking her dog felt uneasy about a man in a vehicle. The car started up and loved nearer to her and then he would shut off the engine. Woman was able to get the license plate number.

Sunday, April 5

At 1:06 a.m., motor vehicle accident with property damage on Park Street. Defendant’s vehicle struck victim’s vehicle in Salem, Mass., and continued driving into Beverly. Stephanie A. Jutras, 30, of Beverly, was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor.

At 1:33 a.m., drunken group ran out of a cab on Friend Street. Two men located on Friend Street. Paid the cab driver and apologized for the incident. Northshore Taxi was satisfied with the response.

At 9:57 a.m., suspicious package of white powder found on Preston Place. Fire Department notified.

At 3:17 p.m., vandalism on Riverside Street and Park Street. Vandalism to a motor vehicle.
