Police: Full Moon Over Beverly?

The past several days have seen Beverly Police cover several odd and unusual calls.

Local police logs are always a good place to look to find the quirky and unusual corners of a town or city.

But some of the calls the Beverly Police have responded to in the past several days might lead officers to believe that they have been operating under a full moon that has somehow managed to escape the rest of the world.

Shortly before 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, police played mediators in a family dispute on Bow Street. Police spoke with a woman who said she wanted the jewelry she lent her sister back by Thanksgiving. Her sister agreed, in fact, to return the jewelry in time for the holiday. It was determined that this incident was not a police matter.

Less than two hours later, police were called to Rantoul Street for a possible theft attempt. The man who called said that a drunk woman with a dog tried to take his beer. She was not successful. He said the woman, whose first name was Sarah, last name unknown, left the area.

Police wrapped up the night by acting as relationship counselors. Around 10:30 p.m., police got a report of a couple yelling at each other in a car on Brimbal Avenue.

The woman in the car said the couple was not yelling at each other, but that she was crying because the man was breaking up with her. She said she wanted the man to drive her home.

While Wednesday had its share of slightly odd calls, it was a Thursday afternoon call that took the creepy cake in Beverly this week.

At 5:44 p.m., police responded to Roundy Street, where a homeowner found a strange bag on her door. Inside the bag was a condom, hair, a maxipad, toilet paper, and note that stated “show me some love.” No other information about the unsettling array of items was immediately available.
