Police Log: Possible Attempted Break-in Reported on Rantoul Street

Thursday, Dec. 11

At 5:44 p.m., police responded to Park Street about a hit-and-run accident.

At 9 p.m., police reported making five motor vehicle stops on Cabot Street as part of the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign. Officers issued four verbal warnings and one summons.

At 10:06 p.m., police issued a verbal warning to a driver who attempted to make a U-turn by driving onto the sidewalk on Rantoul Street.

At 7:58 a.m., police responded to Cross Lane about a vehicle stuck on train tracks. The vehicle was towed.

At 10:30 a.m., police received a call from Bridge Street about a person giving an employee a hard time. Police spoke to both people.

At 10:32 a.m., a Rantoul Street resident reported a possible past break-in attempt. A window was pushed in and dirt was found on a table near the window, but no one was found inside the residence.

At 12:32 p.m., police responded to a car accident on Rantoul Street. There were no injuries

At 5:03 p.m., police responded to Park Street about a man staggering in the area near the train platform. The man was taken into custody by a family member.
