Police: Man Attempted to Steal Gas Grill, Report of a Car Stuck in a Car Wash and Threats on Facebook Reported

Friday, Jan. 2

At 5:35 p.m., motor vehicle stop on Kernwood Avenue and Harris Street. Citation issued for rejection sticker.

At 6:41 p.m., ongoing harassment on Grant Street investigated.

At 7:13 p.m., motor vehicle hit and run accident. Vehicle damaged while at Franco lot on Park Street.

At 8:30 p.m., larceny on Elliott Street investigated.

Saturday, Jan. 3

At 11:01 a.m., fraud reported on Friend Street. Money missing from an account.

At 11:09 a.m., report of suspicious activity on Chase Street. Man attempted to take a gas grill. Owner interrupted the act, and provided officers with a description of the suspect.

At 12:54 p.m., animal complaint. Female bit by an unleashed dog on Lothrop Street. Minor puncture; refused treatment.

At 4:12 p.m., assist citizen on Rantoul street. Man being threatened. Person received a Facebook message from an old classmate that was vague, and at times, threatening. Man had not had contact with the old classmate for over 20 years. Officers advised him to block classmate on Facebook, and request party cease contacting him.

At 5:06 p.m., larceny on Elliott Street. Item taken from delivery.

At 6:09 p.m., assist citizen. Car stuck in car wash on Margin and Bridge streets. Gone was freed and gone when officers arrived.

At 7:52 p.m., larceny on Dodge Street. Snow plow stolen from behind the plaza.

At 9:01 p.m., larceny on School Street. Medication reported missing.

At 10:57 p.m., motor vehicle accident with property damage on Wentworth Drive. Truck struck a tree.

Sunday, Jan. 4

At 12:55 a.m., vandalism in Cabot Street. Car window smashed out.

At 12:32 p.m., motor vehicle stop on Essex Street. Verbal warning given for speeding.
