Police: Man Said He Had a Trouser Malfunction But Was Not Exposing Himself; Knife Assault; Driver "Late For Work" Cited For Running a Red Light

Thursday, March 19
At 4:23 p.m., minor motor vehicle accident on Essex Street. No injuries.
At 6:41 p.m., suspicious activity at Burger King at Route 128 service area. Man was anonymously reported to be exposing himself in the mens restroom. Officer encountered man in the parking lot who said he had a trouser malfunction but was not exposing himself. The reporting party did not leave contact information so the statements to the Burger King employee could not be corroborated.

At 6:44 p.m., walk-in reported identity theft.
At 7:47 p.m., assault with a knife on Rantoul Street. Man with a knife. Suspect arrested.

At 9:13 p.m. accident on Sohier Road and Route 128, Exit 19. no injuries. Both vehicles towed.
At 10:25 p.m., water main break on Hale Street and Connolly Place. DPW notified.
Friday, March 20
At 7;50 a.m., motor vehicle stop on Putnam Street. verbal warning given for stop sign violation.
At 8:35 a.m., motor vehicle stop on Elliott Street and Mcpherson Drive. Driver cited for turning onto Elliott Street through a red light. Party was “late for work.”
At 10:54 a.m., follow-up on man taking photos on Lothrop Street.
At 12:11 p.m., motor vehicle stop on Cabot Street and Dane Street. Citation issued for failure to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Driver intentionally cut-off pedestrian within three feet of the center line in the roadway. When asked, driver stated that she did not see the pedestrian. Citation issued.
At 12:48 p.m., check wellbeing on Cabot Street. Erratic driving reported. Third time this month that police has received reports about the man’s driving.
At 2:21 p.m., suspicious activity on Park Avenue. People on train tracks filming without permission.
