Police: Woman Travels From Florida to Meet Man, Man Changes His Mind

Tuesday, August 4

At 4:26 p.m., police arrested Daniel J. Nason, 58, of 296 Washington St. in Salem and charged him with shoplifting.

At 5:38 p.m., copper was reported stolen on Trask Street.

At 8:01 p.m., a lot of screaming and yelling was reported on Broadway.

At 10:20 p.m., police got a call about an unwanted guest on Rantoul Street. A man said he met a woman online and that she had flown up from Florida only to have him change his work schedule. He decided he no longer wanted her around and she would not leave.

Wednesday, August 5

At 3:29 p.m., extra units were assigned to the area around Lynch Park to help with traffic issues from the Lobster Festival.
