Rain Dampens Day 3 Of Beverly Homecoming

UPDATED 11:30 a.m.

BEVERLY, MA — While a historically rainy summer has taken a turn for the better in recent weeks, a regression to showers early and possible downpours late on Friday forced the cancellation or postponement of multiple Beverly Homecoming events.

The BevRec Kids Carnival and Police Bike Rodeo scheduled for Lynch Park, as well as the Veterans Cookout at Ellis Square, are off for Friday.

The Ice Cream Social scheduled for Lynch Park was also canceled late Friday morning.

The George Robertson Memorial Bike Rodeo is postponed to a date to be determined while the other two events have been rescheduled.

The kids carnival has been rescheduled for Aug. 10 and the veterans cookout has been rescheduled for Aug. 18.

Other events set for Friday were still on as scheduled as of Friday morning, while the weekend forecast is looking good for the rest of the event, including the Sunday night fireworks.
