Ricardo Fernandez Appointed to The Council at Montserrat

Ricardo Fernandez has been appointed to The Council at Montserrat College of Art.

BEVERLY – Ricardo Fernandez of Beverly has been appointed to The Council at Montserrat College of Art. He has been involved in the fields of product engineering and design for over 30 years, including Directorships at Draeger Medical in Andover and the consulting firm Fitch Inc., in Boston. Fernandez holds multiple patents in medical and consumer product design.

He holds a BS in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad de Lima, in Peru and a MS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. Ricardo is very active in the cultural life of Beverly, Cape Ann and his native Peru and has been a fixture and friend of their local gallery, museum and artist communities.

“I moved to Beverly 25 years ago and have always treasured the role that Montserrat College of Art plays in enriching every aspect of my life, our city would not be what it is without it,” he said. “I count as friends many of its alumni and are proud to have many of their works in my collection. With this appointment, I hope to strengthen this institution that is so dear to my heart.”

Montserrat College of Art is a private, residential college of visual art and design supporting the creative life by educating artists and entrepreneurs for a rapidly changing world. At the intersection of art, design and technology, the college offers three international programs, 12 concentrations and a required internship program.

Montserrat alumni are employed by some of the country's biggest brands including Disney, Puma, Hasbro and more. Students earn the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and develop their skills for success in today's growing creative economy.
