Route 128 Real Time Traffic Displays On Deck

The displays are live updates are coming to Beverly, Danvers, and Essex.

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation isn't promising to make your commute any quicker. But it at least plans on informing you on it.

MassDOT announced Monday the expansion of its Real Time Traffic Displays, adding seven displays along Route 128.

The displays are designed to provide drivers with real-time information on how long they can expect their commute to be.

Two displays will be on Route 128 southbound in Essex, two on Route 128 southbound in Beverly, and three on Route 128 northbound in Danvers. The displays being constructed won't display times until they are completed.

MassDOT says the display system will expand throughout the year. It is expected to provide 137 signs and help over 2 million drivers daily.
