Rt. 128 Ramp to be Closed on Wednesday

A bumpy, pothole-filled exit ramp in Centerville will be closed on Wednesday to get a new road surface.

The work that will happen on Wednesday will mean that the exit 18 northbound off-ramp and on-ramp will be closed. The stretch of road to be repaved is also known as Old Essex Road and has several homes along it.

Variable message boards have been put up along Route 128 and Essex Street for the past few days to warm drivers about the closure.

"It is probably one of the worst streets in the state, but that will get taken care of," said Ward 6 City Councilor Brett Schetzsle as he reminded people about the work during an announcement at Monday night's City Council meeting.
