Bus then drove off and left the boy by himself, according to the log. The boy was brought home, and turned over to his sister. She told officers there was some confusion on who was picking him up.
“The young child was safe,”Mr. Hiersche said on Thursday. The superintendent said he had been in contact with the boy’s family.
Mr. Hiersche said the safety of students is the district’s primary concern. He said the bus driver followed all policies. The boy was not a kindergartener.
Additionally, the superintendent said he always appreciates when community members help lookout for the children. He was grateful that the woman took the time to make sure the boy was safe.
“We want all kids to be safe,” Mr. Hiersche said.
