Senate Candidate Sullivan to Visit Beverly, Guanci on Thursday

One of the three Republicans running for the open U.S. Senate seat will visit Beverly on Thursday afternoon.

A former county and federal prosecutor running for the state's open seat in the U.S. Senate will visit Beverly on Thursday with a planned visit with the City Council president.

Republican Michael Sullivan plans a stop on his "Tested and Trusted Tour" on Thursday from 5-5:30 p.m. at Super Sub on Cabot Street. According to Sullivan's campaign, Sullivan will be joined at the campaign stop by City Council President Paul Guanci, who owns Super Sub.

A Beverly man, Matt St. Hilaire, works as a campaign strategist for Sullivan.

Before arriving in Beverly, Sullivan has stops planned in Lowell and Andover. On Friday, he will visit Cape Cod and the South Shore and on Saturday will be in Worcester and MetroWest.

Sullivan is facing Daniel Winslow and Gabriel Gomez in the Republican primary next Tuesday. Polls will be open 7 a.m.- 8 p.m. in Beverly.

The Republican nominee will face the Democratic Party's nominee - either U.S. Rep. Stephen Lynch or U.S. Rep. Ed Markey - in the general election in June.
