
St. Hilaire Campaign Facebook Page Surpasses 1,000 "Like" Milestone
City Council candidate advocates for increased Social Media usage in city government
BEVERLY, MA – Matt St. Hilaire, a Beverly native and candidate for City Council At-Large, announced today that his campaign Facebook Page has surpassed the 1,000 "Like" milestone and advocated for increased social media usage in city government.

“It's exciting to see so many people following my campaign for City Council." St. Hilaire said. "I'm a huge proponent of social media and as City Councilor I will push for increased social media usage in our city government. By leveraging this technology we can increase transparency and citizen engagement.”
St. Hilaire launched his website (www.MattSthilaire.com), social media sites as well as a microsite (www.InnovateBeverly.com) shortly after entering the campaign for City Council At-Large in June. His campaign Facebook Page has more "Likes" than any other elected official or candidate in Beverly.

“I've been a leader is utilizing technology to communicate and engage the people of Beverly throughout this campaign." St. Hilaire said. "Social media has changed the way people receive and share information and I'll take the same approach as City Councilor."
St. Hilaire, 36, is a graduate of Beverly High School’s class of 1995 and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Villanova University in 1999. He is married to Beverly native Elizabeth (Dunn) St. Hilaire and together they have three young children. St. Hilaire served in the Governor’s Office at the State House and has held leadership positions with a number of high profile political campaigns. He is currently employed as a Recruiter and Social Media Manager in the private sector.
“An elected official’s first duty is to listen to the people he or she represents – in order to do that I will reach out to give residents an opportunity to be heard.” St. Hilaire said. “Beverly is fortunate to be the home to many talented, creative and successful people. We're all in this together and I look forward to collaborating with our citizens so that the very best ideas are on the table for Beverly.”
