Empty Shell Casing Found At Beverly High School
A heavy police presence would be at the school throughout Tuesday out of an "overabundance of caution," school officials said.

BEVERLY, MA -- Beverly Police issued a stay-in-place order at Beverly High School at 10:25 am Tuesday morning after a shell casing was found in a classroom. The shell casing was found by a student and given to a teacher. Students stayed in their classrooms for nearly two hours as police conducted a search.
At 12:15 the order was lifted after police determined there was no safety threat. An added police presence would be at the school for the remainder of the day out of an "overabundance of caution," school officials said in social media posts.
11/20/18, 12:36 - Thank you for the patience of our students and staff and for the help from the Beverly Police Department during this stay in place.
