Stuck Drawbridge Causes Train Delays Up to An Hour
The train drawbridge over the Saugus River was stuck open for a time on Friday morning, delaying commuter rail service.

The Saugus drawbridge was stuck open on Friday morning causing a delay up to an hour for early-morning commuter rail trains.
The bridge had been returned to the "normal" position to 6:15 a.m. and further delays to morning commuter rail service was expected to be "minor," according to the T.
The T said at 5:43 a.m. that the bridge was open and that inbound train 102, which normally leaves at 5:05 a.m. from Rockport, and inbound train 152, which normally leaves at 5:22 a.m. from Newburyport, were both running 45-60 minutes late. Train 102 usually makes a stop in Beverly Farms at 5:29 a.m. and 5:39 a.m. at Beverly Depot. Train 152 typically stops at North Beverly at 5:45 a.m. and Beverly Depot at 5:50 a.m.

There was no immediate word about what caused the bridge to get stuck.
