Student Finds Bullet At Beverly Middle School
The school was placed under a stay-in-place order so police could search the building Friday morning.
BEVERLY, MA -- Beverly Middle School was put under a stay-in-place order after a student found a bullet in the corner of a hallway around 8:48 am Friday. In a message to parents, school administrators said the student immediately gave the bullet to a teacher.
"This is a safety precaution," the voice mail to parents said. "We will communicate more information soon."
After an extensive search, the order was lifted. Beverly Police Chief John LeLacheur said no other ammunition and no firearms were found during the search, which included canine units from the Massachusetts State Police.
