Introduction to Comics Workshop: July 6- 10

Montserrat College of Art’s Summer 2015 Immersive Program is hosting a workshop on Introduction to Comics. Explore the steps of creating your own comic like a pro! We’ll begin by understanding the parts of a comic, and how they contribute to the whole. From pencils and inks, to plotting and dialogue, we’ll bring them all together to make comics of our own. Examples, discussions, and feedback will take place alongside studio work. Students will be introduced to one digital tool, Manga Studio, and learn the pros and cons of digital vs analog methods. By week’s end, everyone will have produced their own comic. Minimum age is 15 years.
