Montserrat College of Art’s Summer 2015 Immersive Program is hosting a workshop on Mixed Media Drawing & Painting. This class encourages exploration of materials and finding one’s process in the transition from drawing to painting. We will begin drawing from observation, and quickly move to approaches within representation, abstraction, and/or methods working with the imagined and remembered. Experiment with charcoal, graphite, pastel, oil pastel, ink, and acrylics; integrate collage and photographs. Materials, mark making and surface will be discussed in relation to meaning. We will look at work by Jim Dine, Cy Twombly, Julie Mehretu and others. Open to all.

Prerequisite: This course is open to all levels of experience and all that is required is your unrestrained creativity.
