Montserrat College of Art’s Summer 2015 Immersive Program is hosting a workshop on Plein Air Landscape Painting. Paint on site in the dramatic beauty of coastal New England with acclaimed artist and educator, George Nick. The study of painting from observation will encourage attention paid to drawing, the process of mixing colors, and the analysis of tones and their relationship to colors. Students will gain a friendly stance towards paint application and explore the language of composition and how to ‘own it’ too. We will reconstruct the world from the common knowledge of form and space. Each day will provide thoughtful critique to guide the artist to personal expression.
