Three Time Winner Takes Homecoming 5K Again in Personal Best
A Hamilton man won Thursday night's 48th Annual Yankee Homecoming 5K race for the fourth time.
Patrick Rich won Thursday night's Yankee Homecoming 5K race - making it his fourth win.
This time, it was a 5K personal record, according to the Salem News, for the Gordon College and former Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School track coach.
The event marked the unofficial start to Beverly Homecoming, whose 10 days of events officially start on Friday.
Rich won in 15:23 and Larissa Park of Somerville was the first female at 17:14. She finished in 6th overall.
Rich told the News he last ran the race in 2010 and has run it 10 times - winning four of those races. Park said she ran it once before and won, making Thursday her second win in as many tries at the 46th annual race.
Erich O'Neil of Beverly was the first male finisher from the Garden City, according to the official results. He finished in 17:24 for 7th place.
Mariah Tinger was the first Beverly female, finishing in 20:04 in 51st place.
