Tiny House Art Installation Coming to Beverly!
Come visit the Tiny House Art Installation July 2-31 in Beverly, MA.

BEVERLY, MA - From July 2 through July 31, a handmade purple tiny house will take up residence on the lawn of 7 Winter Street in Beverly, MA at Montserrat College of Art. The house, affectionately called Aubergine, was built by the community of Miranda’s Hearth as a public art project from June 2015-2016.
The purpose of the project was to highlight forms of art that are often overlooked by traditional venues. The house itself was handmade with the help of 50+ volunteers and boasts artwork from over 100 local artists including the sink, floor cloth, front door, stained glass window, nightlights, blankets, paintings, and more.
Aubergine, the tiny house, is a prototype hotel room for the long-term goal of Miranda’s Hearth: to become the first community art hotel. This will be a functioning hotel where everything from the food to the furniture is handmade by local artists. Visitors will be able to buy what they use in their room or take a class and learn how to make it from themselves.

Currently, Miranda’s Hearth is looking into bringing the community art hotel to Beverly, specifically to the Briscoe Middle School or St. Mary’s Elementary School. They’re bringing the tiny house to the city to start the conversation about what it means to have environments where everything around you is handmade by local artists.
“Rather than ‘build it and they will come,’ we believe in bringing people together so that they can help build it,” says Hearth Founder Miranda Aisling. “That’s why we’ve been hosting events throughout Greater Boston since July 2013. We’re looking forward to celebrating our fifth birthday in Beverly by bringing Aubergine right downtown and can’t wait to talk with local community members about what they think!”
