'Tis the Season: Packages Stolen From Building

Wednesday, Dec. 17

At 4:16 p.m., police responded to a car accident at Brimbal Avenue and Palmer Road. There were no injuries. Two cars were towed.

At 8:19 a.m., police received a call about a minor car accident and people yelling. Police were unable to locate any accident or issues.

At 9:22 a.m., police received a call from Pickett Street after a person alleged that a neighbor’s dog was off its leash and the man felt threatened. The dog’s owner said the dog was not off leash, but the man started yelling for help, which caused people to to come out of their houses.

At 9:55 a.m., a Cabot Street resident reported a past break-in.

At 10:22 a.m., police responded to Enon Street about a possible past break-in. Police found there was no break-in. Someone had cut open an old abandoned safe that had been behind the building for more than two years.

At 10:33 a.m., police and fire responded to Sylvan Road about a house fire. When they arrived, there was heavy smoke coming from the house. Firefighters quickly knocked down the fire and contained it to the front door area.

At 11:05 a.m., police received a call about an attempted wire transfer fraud on Rantoul Street.

At 1:36 p.m., police responded to Broughton Drive about a vehicle vandalism.

At 2:56 p.m., police received a call from Rantoul Street and Fayette Street about stolen packages.
