Two Beverly Men Arrested in Drug Bust

Police found heroin, Klonopin and two dozen hypodermic needles in the vehicle.

Two Beverly men were arrested on drug charges after heroin, Klonopin and two dozen hypodermic needles were found in a backpack in their vehicle Thursday afternoon on Balch Street.

Alex Serpa 30, of Beaver Pond Road, Beverly, and Joseph Parsons 29, of Blaine Avenue, Beverly, were arrested on charges of possession of heroin, and Serpa was additionally charged with possession of Klonopin and not having a valid inspection sticker, according to authorities.

Officers responded to Balch Street near Blaine Avenue around 2:30 Thursday afternoon after a caller reported suspicious activity taking place in a motor vehicle. After locating the vehicle matching the description given, Beverly Police arrested the two men.

Officers recovered heroin from Parsons, as well heroin, Klonopin, and two dozen hypodermic needles from a backpack found in the vehicle.
