Two Police Detectives and a Trooper Injured During Drug Arrests

Two Beverly Police officers and a Massachusetts State Trooper were injured as they attempted to take a Lawrence man into custody on drug charges, according to Beverly Police.

Miguel E. Castillo-Moya 26, of Lawrence, was arrested for possession of Class A and Class B drugs with intent to distribute, and resisting arrest. Isabel Ortega 50, of Roxbury was arrested on two outstanding warrants and providing false information to authorities..

Castillo-Moya attempted to flee during the arrest, according to Beverly Police, at which time two Beverly detectives and a trooper were injured trying to place him into custody. Authorities did not release specific information regarding the injuries, or release the names of the officers.

Detectives recovered a small amount of heroin and cocaine, cell-phones, and approximately $850 in cash.

Both Castillo-Moya and Ortega were scheduled to be arraigned on Friday.
