Windows ... And Siding ... And Roofing ... Oh, My! Coastal Windows & Exteriors Holds Successful Build Day & Announces 2nd Build Day & Fundraising Event on November 17th, 2013!

Coastal Windows & Exteriors of Beverly, MA, teamed up with North Shore Habitat for Humanity - in coordination with Warner Bros. classic film, “The Wizard of Oz” - to help build new homes for local families in need.  They kicked off those efforts this past Saturday, October 19, 2013 at their first “Coastal Build Day”.

In the spirit of the Magic of Oz, Coastal Windows & Exteriors donated the roof, siding, windows and doors that will turn the dilapidated house at 6 Grover Street in Lynn, MA, into a home for some very lucky local families.  Coastal Windows & Exteriors Owners Stephanie and Dave Vanderbilt were thrilled to personally install their first window ever – and the first window on the new home as well as the first piece of vinyl siding – during their Build Day on Saturday.  “Having been a teacher for deaf students here in Lynn, I have a strong connection with this community,” said Stephanie Vanderbilt, owner, Coastal Windows & Exteriors.  “It was such an amazing feeling to look through the window that I helped to install and envision all of the incredible memories that will be made inside this home through the years.”

Coastal Window’s & Exteriors’ second “Coastal Build Day” is scheduled for Saturday, November 16th, 2013, 8:30am-3:30pm at the Grover Street house in Lynn, MA.  Once again, they will be recruiting 20 lucky volunteers to be a part of this amazing day-long community build experience that also includes a BBQ lunch courtesy of The North Shore Meat House and the gift of a commemorative Coastal Build Day t-shirt.  Space is limited, so please email svanderbilt@mycoastalwindows.com to sign up and receive more detailed information about this first Coastal Build Day. That same evening Coastal Windows & Exteriors will participate in a fundraising event at Vittori Rocci Post in Beverly, MA to continue raising funds to support North Shore Habitat for Humanity.  If you’re unable to volunteer or attend the fundraising event, the community can still help pave the way for this new home by making a donation to North Shore Habitat for Humanity.  Visit HabitatforHumanity-Northshore.com to make your contribution and receive a special thank you gift from Coastal Windows & Exteriors.

The new Habitat for Humanity sponsored home on Grover Street in Lynn, MA is a complete gut renovation that will ultimately be transformed into a three family veterans preference home.  The future homeowners and volunteers have been working side-by-side on initial demolition of the triple-decker for the past few months. The extensive renovation will continue through the fall and early winter with plans for it to be completed in early 2014.
