ZEHAVA YOUNGER OF BEVERLY RECEIVES 'BEST PROMISING YOUNG PERFORMER' AWARD FROM INDEPENDENT REVIEWERS OF NEW ENGLAND
- Boston Children's Theatre actress honored for her role as 'Anne Frank' --
The Independent Reviewers of New England (IRNE) honored 15-year old Zehava Younger of Beverly with the ‘Best Promising Young Performer’ Award at the 20th Annual IRNE Awards. Recognized for her poignant and moving performance as ‘Anne Frank’ in Boston Children’s Theatre’s 2015 production of The Diary of Anne Frank, Zehava accepted the award by acknowledging Anne’s enduring impact. “This is such an important story that needs to be told,” Zehava told an audience of several hundred people. “Thank you for providing me with the opportunity to help keep Anne’s spirit alive and to share her story with today’s audiences. I am honored.”
An accomplished young actress, Zehava was most recently seen in Boston Children’s Theatre’s World Premiere production of the musical Caps For Sale. She has also appeared in BCT productions of Thoroughly Modern Millie and Fame Jr. Outside of BCT, she has performed with North Shore Music Theatre in The Wizard of Oz and A Christmas Carol, and with Neverland Theatre in the lead role of ‘Annie’ in Annie. She has also appeared in Honk! with Stoneham Young Company, The Merchant of Venice with Rebel Shakespeare, Hot Mikado with Community House Theater, Into the Woods Jr with Showtime at Stoneridge, and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at Beverly High School. On screen, Zehava can be seen in the film In My Mind, on BevCam in I Have Music in Me, and in the Boston University student film, Shelter Me. Zehava is a sophomore at Beverly High School.
