1 Dead, 2 Injured In Storrow Drive Rollover

Police said the crash occurred on a section of Storrow Drive that was closed due to the Fourth of July celebration.

BOSTON — One person died and two were injured in a rollover crash on Storrow Drive early Friday morning. State police said the crash happened on a section of Storrow that was still closed for the Fourth of July Esplanade celebration.

"Evidence suggests that prior to the crash, the operator drove around barriers at the Charlesgate East on-ramps to enter the closed portion of Storrow Drive," according to the State Police.

Police said Alexander Galanis, 27, of Stoughton, drove his 2000 Cadillac sedan around the barriers about three hours after the end of the annual July 4 celebration and rolled over at Clarendon Street, and then the car slammed into a building at Back Street.
