2 Alarm Fire In South Boston, Firefighters Rescue Trapped Person
Firefighters are fighting a fire on Mercer Street in South Boston. Someone was reportedly trapped on the third floor.

BOSTON, MA — Boston firefighters rescued at least one resident from the third floor of a burning home during at 31 Mercer St. in South Boston Tuesday night, that caused some $800,000 in damages.
A total of two residents and three firefighters were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, according to fire officials.
They got the call around 8 p.m. for a report of a fire, and when they got there, fire was showing. At 8:25 the fire was upgraded to a 2-alarm fire.

Early radio reports indicated a person with a disability might be trapped on the third floor. Later firefighters confirmed they got that person out.
Boston Police were called to the area to help direct traffic along the narrow streets. Investigators are still looking into the cause, according to fire officials.
