2 Arrested After Boston Officer Shot, Held Without Bail: Police
The two men are charged with armed assault with intent to murder among other things.
BOSTON, MA — Police arrested two men in connection with the nonfatal shooting of a police officer Sunday afternoon that sent the officer to the hospital. Police announced the arrests just hours after they reported they had three people in custody following the shooting.
Both were held without bail at their arraignment in Boston Municipal Court, Monday where friends and family of both the men and the police crammed the courtroom.
Sunday afternoon while a police officer assigned to the Youth Violence Strike Force was patrolling West Springfield Street in the South End just before 2 p.m., he was shot in the leg. SWAT was called in as was a hostage negotiator after the men who police said shot a fellow officer was believed to be in an apartment near 91 West Springfield Street.

Police arrested Raquon Martin, 21, of Boston and Antoine Mack, 35, of Rhode Island, Sunday. Both are charged with armed assault to murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, unlawful possession of ammunition and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon.
