2 Boston Restaurants Shut Down Over Health Code Violations
Neighboring Back Bay restaurants reportedly had close to 20 violations each.

BACK BAY, MA – Two restaurants in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood have been shut down following a laundry list of health code violations at each, reports say. Back Bay Sandwich and neighboring restaurant Café Med both had their permits suspended last week.
The restaurants were each cited for 19 health code violations. These included allegedly storing raw chicken next to prepared food at Café Med and evidence of rodent activity at Back Bay Sandwich, according to WCVB. Other violations were for employees smoking and failing to wash their hands before returning to work.
The violations were allegedly related to a recent outbreak of a foodborne illness. The restaurants will be inspected again before they can reopen.
