The Boston Athletic Association will verify all applications and qualifying times, and everyone who enters will be notified of whether they were chosen in early December.
"Due to field size limitations, achieving one's qualifying standard does not guarantee entry into the event, but simply the opportunity to submit a registration application," officials wrote on the marathon's website.

The race will be capped at 30,000 runners, which is 10,000 more than October's delayed 2021 marathon.
All participants must prove that they have been fully vaccinated since prior to Friday, April 15. Medical exemptions will be considered on an individual basis, officials said.
