5 Shot At Boston’s Dominican Festival In Franklin Park
The shooting occurred on the outskirts of the festival area around 8:45 p.m. Sunday.
BOSTON, MA — Five people have been taken to the hospital after being shot as Boston's Dominican Festival wrapped up in Franklin Park Sunday evening, Boston police said at a news conference later in the night.
None of the victims — three males and two females — suffered life-threatening injuries, according to police. Their ages have not been revealed.
The shooting occurred on the outskirts of the festival area around 8:45 p.m., police said. The area near Circuit Drive was closed.

"This is a pretty large crime scene that [we'll be] going through most of this evening," Police Commissioner Michael Cox said. "There were many many people that were witnesses and we need the public support on this. If anyone has any video footage ... we really need public support on this one because we need to hold these people responsible."
Cox clarified that it is not known whether there is more than one person responsible for the shooting.

The free festival, which included a parade, ran from 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Clifford Playground and consisted of "an explosion of music, live performances, dancing, delicious food and the beautiful essence of the Dominican culture," according to an event listing on MeetBoston.com.
"This incident really marred a pretty successful event for the folks here," Cox said.
