A packed house of eager theater-goers gathered at the Historic Paramount Theater on Washington Street on May 20 to celebrate a major milestone: the reveal of ArtsEmerson’s highly anticipated 2026/2027 season. Marking its 16th year of bringing world-class, transformative performance to the heart of Boston, the annual season preview event offered an exclusive, star-studded look at the productions set to grace local stages over the coming year.
The excitement began early, with the first 50 lucky audience members through the doors at 6:30 PM receiving a special commemorative gift: an ArtsEmerson monogrammed bucket hat. By the 7:00 PM showtime, general admission seats were completely filled with an energized crowd ready to see what the historic 16th season had in store.
Attendees were privileged to witness live trailers on stage, accompanied by several of the brilliant actors and writers who flew in specifically for the event. The ArtsEmerson committee and staff were greeted with a thunderous round of applause as they took the stage to introduce a diverse, internationally acclaimed lineup of shows spanning from October through May.
Following the main presentation, the celebration moved to the Jackie Liebergott Black Box Theatre for an exclusive post-show reception. Guests, staff, and artists mingled over drinks, lite bites, and custom mini cupcakes. Adding to the memorable atmosphere, performer Stefan Fae—dressed to the nines—delighted the crowd with an impromptu ukulele performance, offering a live taste of the music from the upcoming production Songs from Bark of Millions.
For theater lovers planning their calendars, this milestone 16th season promises an incredible array of storytelling, magic, and international collaboration:
From world premieres to local passion projects ten years in the making, ArtsEmerson's 16th season is shaping up to be one of its most impactful yet.
