BOSTON, MA — Boston's Freedom Trail has been named one of the 10 best free attractions in the country. The Freedom Trail came in at no. 7 on the list from USA Today 10Best.
The trail starts at Boston Common and ends at the Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown.
USA Today noted that it "offers historical insight into the city of Boston." The 2.5-mile Freedom Trail connects 16 notable historical attractions, including Park Street Church, the Old State House, Faneuil Hall, Paul Revere House, and the USS Constitution.
The trail was preserved and dedicated by Bostonians in 1951, offering "a unique collection of museums, churches, meeting houses, burying grounds, parks, a ship, and historic markers that tell the story of the American Revolution and beyond," according to its website.
Other sites on the USA Today list include Hershey's Chocolate Tour in Pennsylvania; the St. Pete Pier in Florida; the Cape May County Park & Zoo in New Jersey; and the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Florida.
