Longtime Boston Spa Closing For Good

The salon and spa will welcome customers for the final time at the end of next month.

BOSTON, MA — A longtime Boston salon and spa is preparing to close its doors for good later this year.

G2O Spa and Salon will welcome customers through its doors for the final time on Sunday, Aug. 30, the business announced on its website. The day spa at 33 Exter St. will lay off 55 employees, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification filed with the state on Monday.

"We share this bittersweet news with a tremendous amount of pride in what we have been able to build since first opening our doors to you in 1994," the business wrote in the announcement. "From our relatively modest beginning on Newbury Street as the trailblazer in the concept of a day spa, to our current iteration, unparalleled in scale and offerings, none of this would have been possible without your unrelenting loyalty and trust in us."

G2O Spa and Salon offers massages, cold plunge, tanning, facials, microneedling, hair and nail care, among many other services.

The business said it is dedicated to helping its employees transition to the next chapter.

"As their success is at the heart of what we do, when the team begins to relocate, we will relay where you can continue to experience their talents," the business said. "We cannot wait to see the great things this team will do in the future."

G2O Spa and Salon has also published a frequently asked questions page on its website with more information about the closure.
