Nurses Picket At Boston Medical Center

The picket follows a historic nurses strike at Brigham and Women's Hospital.

BOSTON, MA — Thousands of nurses picketed Boston Medical Center Wednesday.

"I was proud to join the 1199SEIU BMC Nurse Group today on the Picket Line at Boston Medical Center to protect the rights of our critical healthcare workers. We are grateful for the important work you do," state Sen. Nick Collins posted to social media.

"We will be with you every step of the way until you get a fair contract," Collins said.

The picket at Boston Medical Center follows what the Massachusetts Nurses Association called the "largest strike of nurses and healthcare professionals in state history" earlier this month.

The one-day strike at Brigham and Women’s Hospital was followed by a four-day lockout.

The picket was to end at 8 p.m.
