Business Expanding Its Framework With 2nd Boston Location

BOSTON, MA — A framing company is opening its second Boston location this week.

Framebridge at 130 Newbury St. is scheduled to open on Friday, Aug. 1, becoming the chain's 50th retail location nationwide. The business said the facility will help serve customers throughout the region more efficiently and will become its fourth production studio, joining existing locations in Kentucky, Virginia, and Nevada.

Founded in 2014 by Susan Tynan, Framebridge launched as an online custom framing company before opening its first brick-and-mortar stores in 2019. The company says it has now custom framed more than three million pieces and oversees the entire framing process, from designing its frame styles in-house to crafting them with artisans in Tuscany and North Carolina.

Customers visiting the Newbury Street location will be able to browse frame styles, drop off artwork, and receive personalized recommendations from in-store design experts. Like other Framebridge locations, the store will feature a gallery wall celebrating the local community with framed pieces that include a Tom Brady action figure, a golf flag from Brookline's The Country Club, an original 1986 Cheers script, a Bill Russell Celtics jersey, a vintage Legal Sea Foods matchbook and a Newbury Comics tote bag.

"It is a real brand milestone to open our 50th retail store, and to do so on Newbury Street, one of the most iconic addresses in the United States, makes it even more special," Framebridge Founder and CEO Susan Tynan said. "We can't wait to see what this vibrant neighborhood frames and are so excited to finally have another location where our Boston customers can experience Framebridge."

In addition to the new Back Bay storefront, the company is expanding its New England operations with a new framing production studio in Holyoke.

The grand opening celebration on Friday will include a complimentary print giveaway from Boston artist Ashley Eisenman while supplies last. The Newbury Street store will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
