18-Year-Old Woman Identified as Victim in Boston Homicide

BOSTON, MA — An 18-year-old woman has been identified as the victim in a Mattapan homicide investigation.

Yoseliani Ann Marte Ocasio, 18, of Boston, was found suffering from an apparent gunshot wound inside a residence in the area of 25 Malta Road on Saturday, July 18, according to the Boston Police Department. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner ruled her death a homicide on Thursday, July 30.

Officers assigned to Hyde Park responded to the area at approximately 1:52 p.m. for a report of a person shot. After entering the residence, officers located Marte Ocasio, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The department's Homicide Unit is continuing to investigate the shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact homicide detectives at 617-343-4470.
