The two incidents took place in the Roslindale and Roxbury neighborhoods, according to the USDA.

BOSTON, MA — Two Massachusetts men were indicted on charges related to two bank robberies in Boston earlier this year, the United States Attorney's Office for the District of Massachusetts announced.

Steven Harris, 34, and Angel Gonzalez, 26, have been charged with two counts of armed bank robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit armed bank robbery. The two men were previously charged by criminal complaint in May 2026. Harris remains in federal custody, while Gonzalez is in state custody in connection with unrelated proceedings.

According to authorities, Harris and Gonzalez participated in the armed robberies of a Santander Bank branch in Roxbury and a TD Bank branch in Roslindale on April 28. Gonzalez allegedly brandished a firearm during both robberies.

During the first robbery at Santander Bank, Gonzalez allegedly dragged a bank employee from her office to the teller window, threatened to shoot her, and held her at gunpoint. Gonzalez later allegedly entered the TD Bank wielding the same firearm with his index finger on the trigger. Once inside, Harris reportedly moved several employees from their offices to the bank's main area. At the same time, Gonzalez allegedly threatened to shoot the employees if they did not comply with the pair's directives.

Gonzalez then reportedly took approximately $3,000 from a teller drawer before he and Harris fled in a getaway vehicle. The charge of armed bank robbery provides for a potential sentence of up to 25 years in prison, five years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.

The investigation was conducted in part by the Federal Bureau of Investigation with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police. Assistant U.S. Attorney Aidan Lang of the Major Crimes Unit is prosecuting the case.
