Blaze Breaks Out At Boston Home (patch.com) — Brighton residents saw a major emergency response Monday morning when a two-alarm fire tore through a multi-family home on North Beacon Street in Boston. Firefighters knocked down heavy flames in about an hour and continued chasing hotspots, while officials are still working to determine whether anyone was injured and what sparked the blaze.
3. Boston Police Investigating Fatal Shooting (patch.com) — Residents in Roxbury are being urged to share any information after a man died from multiple gunshot wounds near 306 Warren Street, with Boston Police homicide detectives now leading the investigation. Officers responded Saturday night and rushed the victim to a local hospital, where he later died. Authorities have not released the man's identity and are asking for tips through their homicide unit and CrimeStoppers lines.
4. 2 Boston EMTs Attacked While Responding To Call (patch.com) — Two Boston EMTs suffered minor injuries after being assaulted while treating a patient near Cheney Street in Roxbury during the city's Caribbean Festival, highlighting safety concerns for first responders. Boston EMS and the BPPA-EMS Division condemned the violence and praised crews who continued answering calls amid multiple shootings and stabbings. The union is urging Suffolk County prosecutors to pursue strong charges as police continue investigating.
5. Massachusetts marks International Overdose Awareness Day with thousands of flags remembering those lost (bostonherald.com) — Purple flags on Boston Common are honoring thousands lost to overdoses statewide, while new data show Boston's opioid deaths have fallen to their lowest level in a decade.
