Worker Dies After Falling From Scaffolding In Boston: Report

The family of this man is now grieving after this tragic incident.

BOSTON, MA — A father of four died after falling from scaffolding while working on a home in Jamaica Plain Thursday afternoon, according to a report from Boston 25 News.

The man, who was reportedly in his late 40s, was working between the second and third floors of a triple-decker on Weld Hill Street near Hyde Park Avenue when he fell to the ground shortly before 3 p.m. Boston Fire Department technical rescue companies were called to the scene following the fall.

Boston Fire District Chief Eric Vinitsky said crews underwent a slow and methodical process to safely remove the man. He also said conditions were very windy at the scene, but could not say whether the weather played a role in the fall.

The man's brother-in-law, Jose Espinoza, said that he had lived with the victim for approximately 17 years and described him as a hardworking person dedicated to his family. The man leaves behind four children.

The cause of the fall remains under investigation. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration was called to the scene and is also investigating the circumstances surrounding the man's death.
