BOSTON, MA — A man is facing multiple firearm charges after Boston Police recovered a loaded handgun following a foot chase in Mattapan Tuesday night.

Corey Perfect Jean-Little, 22, of Dorchester, was arrested at approximately 10:50 p.m. after officers witnessed an altercation in the middle of the street near Talbot Avenue and Mallard Avenue. Officers noticed a vehicle idling in front of 16 Mallard Ave. with several people gathered around it.

While observing the group, officers reportedly saw one individual reach beneath his zip-up hoodie and remove an unknown object from under his left armpit. A second individual simultaneously reached toward his waist and appeared to hold an object against his body. The group then noticed the officers and reportedly began running from the area.

Officers pursued the individuals on foot and apprehended Jean-Little behind 86 Southern Ave. After placing him in handcuffs, officers noticed that he was not wearing shoes. The second suspect and the vehicle involved in the incident fled the scene.

Officers searched the route Jean-Little had taken and recovered a firearm, a pair of shoes, and a cellphone in the driveway of 16 Mallard Ave. Detectives responded to process the firearm, which was identified as a Taurus Millennium handgun loaded with three rounds of ammunition, including one in the chamber. The gun had a light attachment and a magazine that holds 30 rounds.

Jean-Little was taken into custody and is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of firearm violation with one prior violent or drug crime, possession of ammunition without an FID card, possession of a large-capacity firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, second offense, possession of a firearm without an FID card, subsequent offense, and trespassing.
