BOSTON, MA — A man is facing multiple firearm charges after allegedly brandishing a gun and fleeing through several backyards Thursday afternoon, according to the Boston Police Department.
Damian Christian Errol McGregor, 19, of Dorchester, was arrested on Thursday, Oct. 29, after officers responded to a report of a person with a gun near 86 Lonsdale St. at approximately 3:40 p.m.
While responding to the scene, officers received information that a man had allegedly brandished a firearm that he removed from a blue laundry bag he was carrying.
Upon arrival, officers located the blue laundry bag on the ground behind a fenced-in area and observed a man matching the suspect's description running through several backyards along Glenrose Road.
Police pursued the man and caught up with him near 26 Florida St., where he was detained. With assistance from the department's K-9 Unit, officers subsequently recovered a firearm underneath a shed behind 40 Glenrose Road.
According to police, the firearm was identified as a loaded Glock 19 handgun with a magazine containing 14 rounds of live ammunition.
McGregor is expected to be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possession of a large-capacity firearm, possession of ammunition without an FID card, and two counts of trespassing.
