Arrest Made In Fatal Hyde Park Shooting: Report

BOSTON, MA — A man has been charged in connection with a Hyde Park shooting that left one person dead and four others injured earlier this week, according to a report from WCVB NewsCenter 5.

Oliver Derima, 27, of Boston, is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in West Roxbury Boston Municipal Court on a murder charge stemming from the shooting, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office.

Boston police responded to the area of 1184 Hyde Park Ave. at approximately 12:38 a.m. Monday after receiving reports of a shooting. Officers found five adults suffering from gunshot wounds and transported all five victims to local hospitals. One of the victims, a 26-year-old man, later died from his injuries. Authorities have not publicly identified the victim.

Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden credited Boston police homicide detectives and prosecutors with quickly identifying and arresting the suspect.

Police previously said the department's Homicide Unit led the investigation while detectives processed the scene for several hours. Hyde Park Avenue was temporarily closed as investigators collected evidence.
