Best Places To Work In MA? Companies Ranked In 2022 Report

BOSTON, MA — A new ranking released this week reveals which Massachusetts employers are most-liked by their employees.

The Boston Globe Magazine ranked the top largest, large, medium and small companies in 2022 using anonymous survey data from employees, who were asked to score categories like benefits and leadership.

Many of the top companies are clustered around Cambridge and Boston and are involved in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries. But plenty of farther-away companies like Consigli Construction in Milford, MassMutual Insurance in Springfield, UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester and Planet Subaru in Hanover made the list.

Here are the top companies in each of the four size categories, according to the Globe:

• Largest (1,000+) — Alnylam Pharmaceuticals, Cambridge
• Large (250 to 999) — Relay Therapeutics, Cambridge
• Medium (100 to 249) — North Easton Savings Banks, Easton
• Small (50 to 99) — RapDev, Boston

There are other rankings of companies in Massachusetts with different results. In August, Forbes Magazine ranked Boston Children's Hospital, MIT and Fidelity Investments among the best Massachusetts-based companies. In January, Glassdoor ranked HubSpot, Bain & Company and Boston Consulting Group as the top three in the state.
